Poonam Jhawar (born 14 August 1969 in Mumbai) is a Hindi Film actress and model.

Poonam Jhawar is from a business class family and her mother is a poetess. She was born on 14 August 1969 in Mumbai. Besides being an actress she is also a film-maker, a singer, and a model working in Bollywood. She is fondly called Poo by her friends.

She is 5 ft 8 inches tall and weighs 56 kg and measurements of 32-26-29 currently on an incognito trip in Bhubaneswar.

Poonam Jhawar is a small time film-maker, singer, actress and model of Bollywood. She has not only acted as Female Lead in a few flop and little-known in Hindi movies and a bit role in the 1994 Superhit Mohra, but also acted in some South Indian films.

Recently, she claimed that she was approached by the Playboy Magazine for an exposed shoot and she would be the first-ever Bollywood actress to pose in Playboy Magazine.

Poonam Jhawar made her debut in bollywood in Mohra, a movie starring Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, and Suniel Shetty in 1994. In the movie, she played a small role of Suniel Shetty’s wife, Priya Agnihotri. Before this movie she had done many ad-commercials. Once a producer saw her in an advertisement and called her for a screen test.

This was how her acting carrier took off in bollywood. After nearly nine years of acting in Mohra, she has acted and also sung a song, Sun Meri Rani, as a playback singer in the movie Aanch which was released in 2003.

This was a cinematic film and she has co-produced it with B.L. Saboo. In this movie there are stars like Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal, Ayesha Jhulka, among others. She has also acted in movies like Deewana Hoon Main Tera in the past and The Black and White Fact, which is yet to be released.

Poonam Jhawar has recently entered in the music industry and has launched her debut album, titled “Poo Ka Jalwa”.

In the modeling field she has worked in many ad-commercials like Killer Jeans, Dove soap, sarees and dress materials etc.

Monica's father is named M.C. Arnold Jr. and her mother is Marilyn Best. She has a younger brother named Montez and two half-brothers on her mother's side of the family. Her parents legally divorced in 1987 but had been separated for about three years before that. Monica grew up singing in church, and at the age of 10 had joined a traveling Gospel choir. Two years later, in 1992, Monica was discovered by Atlanta-based music producer Dallas Austin and he signed her to his Rowdy Records label.
